Rubin works long hard hours making belts, knife holsters and shoes, he repairs saddles and will make just about anything you ask for out of leather. Alice Kirk thinks he is a dish, we asked him his thoughts on this, he replied "I tend to run and hide in my shop when that ones about."
No7 :AGATHA PATTERDALE & THE DAIRY SHOP.
Agatha was an employee of old Jake Lox, she ran the dairy shop for him and when he died she decided to convert her home. Instead of just producing milk she started to produce cheese and butter for the whole estate, and now runs a busy shop with her grandaughter Melissa. It is well known that Melissa was heart broken that Robbie never noticed her and is always a little less herself when serving Rune.
No9 : THE BAKERS SHOP : ANN & ALICE KIRK.
Ann was a cook at the farm until Robert and John got married, although they requested she stay on, Jess and Beth liked to share the cooking for their husbands. Ann converted her home into a shop and brought her sister up from Ashbourne to help out and now they run a thriving trade in bread cakes and gossip.
No10 : LEENARD RIMMER : HEALER CHEMIST & TEACHER.
Leenard is the prime target of the gossip, he opens for surgery every saturday morning, and makes house calls with his bag of medicines, the ingredients of which are all mainly grown by Alice who in all truth is much better at herbal medicine. He schools Rune and some other children. Jade has had a good education but has no intention of furthering it. Leenard is a man of great mystery.
No11 : THE FURNITURE MAKER IAN HALL.
Originally a market trader at Hathersage, his home in Gainsborogh was burned down while he was trading. Well known to the Lox family he was invited in December 2037 and is still quiet new to the village.
No12 : TRINKETS AND TROUSERS : THE LANE FAMILY.
Robbie's most favourite house in the village. This is the home of Stephanie Rimmer Lane and her two daughters Jade and Runestone, the later being the object of many hours of watching from Robbie. The whole place is filled with clothing and fabric. There is an endless amount of jewelry cushions and blankets. Two of the four bedrooms contain looms and rolls of fabric. Jade lives in an extension round the back where she has a work shop for her jewelry making and a small flat.
No13 : ALFRED SMITH THE BUTCHER.
Alf buys all his meat off the Lox family. Robbie and Billy provide extra treats such as venison rabbit and boar. He has an extension at the side of his house containing a large cold room installed by Harry. It runs off four solar plates on the roof.
No14 : EMPTY.
Up until recently old Mary Wilks occupied the house. She died in January 2038 at a great age of 97. Rumour has it she was and old girlfriend of Jake Lox. We have it on good authority that it was NOT the sisters Kirk that started this rumour, although if you were to ask Ann I am sure she would be more then obliged to fill you in.
