A Change for 2014

To the loyal readers of my work.

This has been a very difficult year for my family and myself, it began with the heart breaking news that my first grandchild was born sleeping, and followed along with other members of both my own and my wife’s family passing away. The end of this year dealt a very bitter two fold blow, with the loss of my wonderful companion cat Sparky, followed shortly after by my Step Mum, it has felt like a year of the most crushing blows anyone could possibly bare, and it’s taken its toll upon me.

With the added pressures of the downturn from the country and industry, creating large drops in book sales, and family obligations and at times chaos, it has been immensely difficult conditions to write under. But there have been some very long hours of deep reflective thought about the direction I am going and the way I wish my own life to be, and as a result I have made what is probably one of the biggest decisions about my work since I began to look for a publisher back in 2008.

Since publication of the Bowman of Loxley, I have invested a huge amount of my savings, and all of my time into the promotion of the series of books I am writing, as well as looking at and researching other ideas I have for future works. The conclusion of all my soul searching and thought throughout this year has come to the point that I personally feel dissatisfied with the results.

Drastic changes need to be made, and as I enter into 2014, I feel now is the time to act, and so as of January 1st 2014, I am taking complete and full control of all my work, which is a departure from my publisher, as I roll out and unveil a project I started back in 2008 and placed on hold in 2009. I am happy to announce that I will be re-releasing all of the three initial Heirs to the Kingdom books, re-edited, re formatted, and slightly extended, in new covers and published by my own independent company, Violet Circle Publishing.

The stories will remain unchanged from the first publications, but I will polish a few passages and add some more detail, and replace a few parts removed in the first edits that have always given me doubts about their removal.

The transformation period from my initial publisher to VCP will take a little while, and there will be significant changes, as my previous publisher will have to take down and remove all editions of the books from across all book selling stores and online shops. The good news is that most of these are online sellers who hold no physical stock, so my books for a short time will only be available in a limited quantity from our website heirstothekingdom.com.

Once all past copies are clear, we will then replace the books worldwide with the new stock from VCP, and we will release the fourth book in the series The Queen of the Violet Isle by late spring, with the fifth copy to follow before the end of this year.

This is for myself a massive leap, but I feel the right one to take, I am delighted that the wait is over, and I am only sorry it has taken this long to be able to get things back on track. Thankyou all of you for your patience and understanding, and the wonderful support you have given to myself since 2009, I promise when you see the newly reformatted books (A tribute to my wife I feel) you most definitely will not be disappointed.

This feels like a whole other new adventure, and I hope you will all be a part of it.

Happy New Year, to you all, may it bring happiness, peace, and safety throughout.

Robin John Morgan.
